Our first arcade cabinet!
Got this from Craigslist (the ad is actually still up). Guy was asking $100, took $50. Apparently he had a friend who used to work in the arcade business, and this was a birthday present to his son about four years ago.
This cabinet was originally a Track and Field cabinet, and later converted to a Neo-Geo cabinet. It's in pretty decent shape, but we have plans of repainting it in the semi-near future (before the summer ends probably). We're thinking original Neo red for the whole cab. This makes up for the $50 Final Fight cabinet that we just missed out on a few weeks ago.
Nice to own some Neo hardware and software. The carts are huge!

The weathermen totally messed up this weekend. They called for showers all day, but we ended up with a hot, sunny day - perfect for yardsaling! Because of that, we didn't run across a lot of last minute sales, but we still hit 32!
The first and best find of the day was the SNES games. The sale was located right on a main road (incidentally a sale we visited last year), the games were in a small storage bin (visible from the street), and Super Mario RPG was right on the top! When we asked how much, she said "I don't know, whatever you think is fair." We offered $5, and she took it, saying cheerfully, "I think you got a really good deal!"
Earlier, we came across an Atari 2600 with several games, asking $40. The older gent running the sale was adament about Atari's selling for $200. He didn't want to believe us when we told him he was wrong.
Today was funny, because we heard every one of our pet peeve responses when inquiring about video games. Most people say "No, sorry", and we're on our way. Here are some of those responses:
- "We already sold them all...last year/years ago"
- (Friend/Relative of seller) "Oh I have some! But I don't live around here."
- "I've got a bunch of that stuff, but I'm not selling it."
And for those overpriced games:
- "Oh, these go for X on eBay."
Relieved that Memorial Day weekend didn't damper the number of sales - we had a good day! Good luck guys, and enjoy the 3-day weekend!
