Believe it or not, we actually went saling today!

We've skipped the past few weeks for various reasons. Last weekend had barely any sales at all, thanks to Labor Day, so we chose to sleep in. The week before we were on a mini-vacation of sorts, so definately no saling then.

Today was a pretty standard day, which we usually describe by saying "We've done better, we've done worse." You can't really complain when you're paying 20 cents per n64 cart, or getting a sealed 360 controller for 7% of its current MSRP.

We're trying to get excited about yardsaling again, but we're finding ourselves in a bit of a lull. Half of it is that we've already seen so much of what's out there. Every now and then, we'll see something rare, and that really gets us excited again. I can remember the first time we found 3DOs, or the TG16 portable, or driving up to find the huge stack of Nintendo carrying cases, filled with over 100 games and manuals. These are the moments that we live for, and the adrenaline rush can't be described. Unfortunately, the threshold for excitement keeps being raised, and it gets harder and harder to be happy when we find the common-but-good standard fare.

The other half is that we have so much stuff now, and so little space to keep it all. Whenever we buy new stuff, it pretty much immediately goes into storage, so we aren't really even fully enjoying what we're buying. We know that we will in the future, when we finally move into our own place. We're planning on setting up a killer game room, with our complete collection on full display, and all of our old systems hooked up and playable. Rest assured, we'll take tons of pictures when it's all set up! But until then, we keep grinding away at the sales, trying to collect as much as we can.

In any case, we'll keep on saling. There's still plenty that we don't have, and there's always the chance of walking up to a Neo Geo AES. If we are ever fortunate enough to find one, I think we will retire on that day, as there would be nothing left for us to accomplish.
