We're having a slow start this season, but it's still early! We left a tad later than usual (mostly due to limited number of sales), and we realized after today that we cannot leave late again.
We missed "about 30 N64 games" at one sale, and wondered who we lost them to. We hoped it was a soccer mom or something, but we later confirmed who it was.
The Game Boy games were found at a sale where there were a "bunch" of games, but we had just missed them to our competition. The GB games were in a box with some random plastic toys and other crap. Liz CIF'd a quarter for both after Dom confirmed with the seller that our competition had just purchased their other games. When he asked if the buyer had a baseball hat, sunglasses, and a black pickup truck, the woman's eyes lit up and said that was him. That put a damper to our day.
Our competition in this particular town is a flea market dealer who pays whatever the seller is asking, and he's out rather early. He doesn't just buy videogames, but if there are games, he'll take them. Anyway, he was around last year too - we bought a bunch of complete TG16 games off of him out of a bundle that also had NES stuff. After that, we saw him everywhere, and we always had to stay ahead of him. It's looking like this year will be no different, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is it forces us to get out there early and work hard. The bad is that he is still our competition, and we have to assume that we will still lose stuff to him.
Here's hoping to a better haul next week!
